What a legal address costs in Georgia
The spread looks alarming until you notice that two products share one name. A bare legal address, meaning the consent document and a registry entry, runs roughly 240 to 450 GEL a year. Add mail reception with scanning and forwarding and you are at roughly 700 to 1,100 GEL a year. Staffed reception, a Georgian phone line answered in your company name and occasional boardroom use start around 2,500 GEL a year and climb from there.
Two things distort those bands. Georgian quotes almost always exclude 18% VAT. And international operators price per day or per month against a contract term rather than as a flat Georgian annual fee, so a headline that looks cheap can land well above a local provider once the term is counted.
How to choose
Decide first whether you are buying compliance or an office. If you need a company to exist legally and nothing else, the bare address is the whole product, and paying more buys you services you will never call. If you expect Georgian bank letters, Revenue Service notices or courier deliveries, you need a provider that states what happens to physical post.
Worth settling before you pay
- How the consent is signed. Electronic submission direct to the registry is faster and leaves you nothing to collect. Paper means a handoff.
- What happens to mail. Ask for it in numbers. Some firms cap items per month and price scanning per page; others say nothing, which usually means the post sits in a drawer.
- Who else is registered there. A shared address is normal in Georgia. An address shared by several hundred dormant companies is a bank compliance problem waiting to surface.
- What renewal looks like. Whether anyone reminds you, and what the second year costs.
Red flags
- No written statement of who signs the consent and in what form.
- Prices quoted without VAT and without the contract term.
- A provider who will not confirm they still hold or control the property. If their own lease ends, so does your registered address.
- Meeting rooms and reception advertised with no building you can visit.
- Promises that the address will satisfy a residence permit application. It will not, and a provider who says otherwise is guessing.
When you do and do not need to pay for this
If you own Georgian property, you do not need this at all. Register at your own address and keep the several hundred lari. The same goes for anyone whose landlord will genuinely sign the consent and stay put, though that is rarer than it sounds and ties your registry entry to a tenancy you may want to end.
Everyone else registering a Georgian entity is buying this whether they like it or not, so the only real decision is which tier. Start at the bare address. Most Individual Entrepreneurs and small LLCs never need more, because Georgian correspondence arrives electronically through rs.ge rather than by post. Move up when you start receiving physical documents that matter, when a bank or a client asks to meet somewhere, or when you want calls answered in Georgian by someone who is not you.
