What implants cost in Tbilisi
Single implants with abutment and crown run roughly $600 to $1,500. The bottom of that band is Korean and Israeli hardware, the top is Swiss and German. Published starting prices on this list range from $350 at Elit Dent and $368 at Astra for the implant alone, up to around $1,650 for a Straumann implant with its crown.
Full-arch work is where the money is. All-on-4 sits roughly between $2,200 and $5,500 per arch, and can pass $7,500 once you specify a premium implant system and zirconia teeth. TO Dental publishes the clearest version of this, pricing the identical surgery three ways depending on whether you choose SGS, Straumann or Zimmer.
Georgia is genuinely cheap for this. It is not cheap because the surgery is worse. It is cheap because clinic overheads, lab costs and salaries are a fraction of German or UK levels, and because two dozen clinics are competing for the same medical-travel traffic.
How to choose
Match the clinic to the case
A single missing molar with good bone is routine work. Any competent practice on this list will handle it. A full arch with three years of bone loss is a different procedure, and you want a clinic where a maxillofacial surgeon is on staff rather than visiting. Richter's and Dental Medicus both put surgery in house.
Get the brand and the model in writing
"Swiss implant" is marketing. Straumann BLT is a product. The clinics that name specific systems and models are easier to verify and easier to service later, wherever you end up living.
Check the follow-up plan
Implants fail occasionally, and they usually fail in months three to twelve. Ask what happens if that is you, in writing, before you pay a deposit. Some clinics cover the replacement implant but not the flight. That is a reasonable position, but you should know it in advance.
Red flags
- A quote with one number on it and no itemised stages
- No CT scan before a surgical plan is proposed
- Refusal to name the implant manufacturer and model
- A promise that the whole case finishes in one week, offered before anyone has seen your bone
- Pressure to book flights and accommodation through the clinic's own partner before you have a treatment plan
- No written warranty terms, or warranty terms that only exist verbally
When you do not need to pay for this
If you have a single failing tooth that can still be saved by a root canal and a crown, save it. An implant is a replacement for a tooth you no longer have, not an upgrade on one you do. A good clinic will tell you this without prompting, and the ones that go straight to extraction and implant on a first visit are telling you something about their incentives.
You also do not need a full-arch solution just because you are missing several back teeth. Ask about a partial bridge on two implants before agreeing to eight.
If you are already in Tbilisi, get two consultations before deciding. Most clinics here do the first consultation free or for a nominal fee, so a second opinion costs you an afternoon.
